What are plantation shutters?

Plantation shutters are a type of interior shutter also known as California shutters or traditional shutters. This type of shutter consists of narrow units hinged accordion-style that cover a part of the window opening when closed. Typically, the louvres or slats are controlled uniformly by a tilt bar or rod to control light, air flow and visibility.
